Um, yeah..college started like...what, nearly three weeks ago?

I love Cornell. There's so much to do and so little time. Besides being swamped with homework and procrastination night after night (yes, we have assignments due over the weekend on occasion), I've made great friends and lasting memories </sap>

The campus is huge and beautiful....and very hilly. I joke that it's impossible to gain the freshman 15 here (even though, with all the delicious food, it's probably still very possible)

Um, it's cool to be a nerd here. I mean, yeah we have partiers and weirdos, but the majority of the people are chill. My friend Mark brought three versions of Risk AND all three extended editions of LOTR...Every Friday night, we've been having a game of Risk going..except for this past one, in which we watched ALL OF LOTR BACK TO BACK...lasted 'til 7:00 AM on the dot!

I've also joined a few organizations around campus--the pre-vet society, Dial of Ahaz society, and the Cornell Raptor program..the first and last are animalish things, and DAS is a Christian pre-med/pre-vet volunteer group thing. I got to hold a bald eagle on my first day at the Raptor program WHICH WAS AMAZING.

....uhhhhhmmm. ... I really need to do laundry, so I'll end this pretty soon.

Expect a piece of art from me very soon (SHOCKER, I know)...I accidentally left my tablet's stylus at home, so even if I had free-time, it'd have been nearly impossible to spit something out. HOWEVER, my friend Ramsey is running for Student Assembly, so ...I was asked to produce his mascot...which you'll see soon enough (I'll post it as soon as the website is up, which should be later tonight)...ummm, here's how I did it, though: doodled on notebook paper during hour-long break between Bio and Calc (Calc=BOOOOO), traced onto clean typing paper and gave it to Ramsey and the guys who are also helping. They critiqued it (too cute, whaa?), and I adjusted it accordingly...by whiting out the ink and redoing it...THEN, scanned it and produced a clean, digital copy....printed it, handed it back, got it "approved," and colored it...with my laptop's touch pad...on Photoshop. Such a pain in the butt, but friends are worth it. The final version came out great (even though the shading was crappily done because I had no pen pressure to work with).

Oh, one more thing. I dunno if anyone's been reading/watching the news lately, but recently a kid died here from complications of swine flu (and it made national news); the virus has been on the rise across campus (50 -> 450 cases in a week....even my roommate had it), so I ask that you keep Warren Schor and his family, me, and the university in your thoughts and/or prayers..
